Where to Practice Yoga during the Tet Holidays

With streets adorned by Vietnam flags, markets filled with red and gold trinkets, and truck loads of kumquat trees making their way to new homes for good luck, you can feel the buzz of Vietnam’s most celebrated holiday approaching. On Saturday 25 January, 2020 we welcome the new Lunar Year. In Vietnam, we call this the Tet holidays (officially observed between 23 January - 29 January, 2020). Throughout the country Vietnamese people take time off to ring in the new year with their family and friends.

For visitors and travelers to Vietnam, its an exciting and vibrant experience to be here during Tet. Shop and restaurants may close or shorten their hours, ATMs and banks will be busy, and the airports and roads around the country will be full, the energy of celebration, excitement for a new year, well wishes for happiness and health fill the air.

“Will studios be open so I can practice yoga during the Tet holidays?”

Yogis around the world with plans to visit and travel Vietnam have been asking… so we’ve checked with the Vietnam yoga community. Although many studios will close and observe the official Tet holiday period, there are a few studios and teachers open and running their classes. Here’s a list of studios that will remain open (or only closed a few days) during the Tet holidays so you can maintain, deepen or start your practice.
